Also known as Micro Sword, Brazilian Micro Sword, Micro Sword Grass and scientifically as Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Growing Information
Scientific name: Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Placement: Foreground / carpeting
Typical height: Approximately 4–15 cm depending on growing conditions
Growth rate: Slow to moderate
Lighting: Medium to high lighting is recommended for dense, compact growth
Temperature: Approximately 22–28°C
CO₂: Not essential, but supplemental CO₂ can encourage faster and denser growth
Substrate: Best planted into a nutrient-rich aquarium substrate.
Planting Tips
For the best carpet effect, carefully separate the plant into small clumps and plant them a few centimetres apart across the substrate. Keep the planting area reasonably open so taller plants do not block too much light. As the plant establishes, new runners will spread between the individual clumps and gradually fill the gaps.
